When we heard that we’d been named finalists in three categories at the North East Accountancy Awards, it wasn’t just a quick celebration and back to work—although there was a bit of that too. It was one of those rare moments where you really owe it to yourself to pause and think about everything that’s gone into getting here. Late evenings and weekends spent working through complex cases, difficult conversations where clients needed clear and honest advice, and the countless times we’ve had to go the extra mile to make sure things are done properly. Those moments don’t always make headlines or our socials, but they’re exactly what this kind of recognition represents.
We often find that the real value we bring depends on the client and finding out exactly what they need-value often comes from the situations that aren’t straightforward and may leave us scratching our brains for a solution for a moment or two. No two days are the same in The Tax Faculty Office and we really relish this. A client unsure how to structure a transaction, someone navigating a property sale with unexpected tax implications, or a business owner needing clarity when the stakes feel high—these are the moments where our experience and attention to detail really matter. There’s a level of responsibility in that which we never take lightly. Over time, those individual interactions build something bigger: a reputation. Not just for our technical knowledge, but for being dependable, thorough, and clear when it counts most.
That’s why being recognised at this level means so much to us. These awards are typically dominated by large firms with extensive resources, so for an independent practice to stand alongside them is something we’re incredibly proud of. It reinforces that professionalism isn’t about size—it’s about standards and value. It’s about how consistently you show up for your clients, how seriously you take your work, and how committed you are to getting things right.
We’re genuinely grateful to every client who has trusted us with their business, their decisions, and often some very important moments in their lives. You don’t build a reputation in isolation—it’s built through those relationships, one piece of advice and one conversation at a time. Being shortlisted is something we truly value, not just as an achievement, but as a reflection of that trust. And while we’ll absolutely take a moment to appreciate it, it also pushes us to keep doing what we’ve always done—working hard, staying focused, and continuing to deliver the level of service our clients expect and deserve.
Which is exactly why our sleeves are rolled up, we're working hard and ready to end the week on a high!
